My Story

People often ask me why I do this work. The truth is, I've been doing it my entire life.

As a little girl, when people asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would say, "A hairdresser." Later, when they asked what I wanted to do with my life, my answer became even simpler: "I want to help people and animals."

At seventeen, I earned my GED, moved to Colorado, and began a career in cosmetology. For more than twenty-five years, I worked behind the chair, eventually opening two salons and serving countless clients. Looking back, I realize I wasn't just doing hair. I was listening to stories, holding space, offering encouragement, and helping people see themselves in a new light.

I poured my heart into my work, my family, and my community. Like many women, I often put the needs of others before my own.

In 2013, my life changed when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Years later, I lost my great uncle, one of my greatest mentors and supporters. Then in 2021, a vehicle crashed into my salon, setting in motion the unraveling of everything I thought I had built—my business, my health, my identity, and eventually my marriage.

There were moments when I could barely walk. Moments when I questioned everything. Yet beneath it all was a quiet knowing that somehow, everything would be okay.

That season taught me one of the greatest lessons of my life: Healing is not about becoming someone new. Healing is about remembering who you are.

As I look back now, I can see a thread woven through every chapter of my life. The little girl who wanted to help. The hairstylist listening to stories. The mother raising three beautiful children. The caregiver supporting loved ones through transition. The woman navigating illness, loss, and transformation. The guide, teacher, and healer I have become today.

It was never separate. It was always the same work. Helping people through transitions. Helping people through change. Helping people remember.

Over the years, I have come to understand that crossing over takes many forms. Sometimes it is physical. Sometimes it is emotional, spiritual, or deeply personal. We cross over from fear into trust, from grief into healing, from old identities into new beginnings, and from who we once were into who we are becoming.

Today, I serve as a Heart-Centered Healer, Storyteller, Guide, and Teacher. Through True Self Healing Transformation and my work with Medicine of Many Tribes, I am honored to support others as they reconnect with their truth, their purpose, and their authentic selves.

I believe we meet one another for a reason. I believe our stories have the power to heal. I believe we are here to learn from one another, reflect one another, and help one another remember.

My story is still being written. There is always more to learn, more ways to serve, and more opportunities to grow.

If our paths have crossed, thank you. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for allowing me to witness your journey. Thank you for being a reflection, a teacher, and a reminder that we are all connected.

It is an honor to walk beside you.

With gratitude, Teresa

Every journey is unique.

The words shared here come from individuals whose paths have crossed mine in meaningful ways. Some sought healing, some sought clarity, some sought guidance, and others simply needed someone to walk beside them for a season.

Whether a few words or a longer reflection, each message is shared with gratitude and reminds me of the power of connection, trust, and our ability to support one another through life's many transitions.

Thank you to everyone who has allowed me to be part of their journey.
